FIRST COLUMN, BITCHES! [February 26, 2008]
[ mood | cold ]
[ music | "One Thing" -Finger Eleven ]

The Monthly Random Ramblings of a Self-proclaimed Comic Nerd

By: Taylor Madson

This past month, I've had the chance to write my very first column for G4 magazine. A magazine that I subscribe to, and love. I'm honored to have the chance to contribute to such an amazing publication, I just hope you guys enjoy reading what I have to say each month.

My only obstacle? Nope, not my full time job, or huge family. I found that after being a writer at heart my entire life, I was overcome by writer's block. What to write about? What if people didn't like it? What if month two, I was demoted to the back of the magazine before finally being pushed out in month three? What would I do then?

Then I realized. Oh, I'd go on as normal. I'd still have my job, I'd still have my family. I just wouldn't be writing a monthly column. That being said... I hope this doesn't crash and burn. “Taylor Madson: Columnist” sounds badass. I'd like to keep that title if I could.

I finally decided how I'd start my column off. You know nothing about me, yet for an undisclosed amount of time [hopefully longer than three months!], you'll be reading my thoughts and opinions and I'm thinking that you may want to get to know me before we embark on this journey. Enjoy the ride, kids.

Our story opens on our young hero. He and his best friend are reading comics, wearing superhero costumes, playing video games. It starts on them as kids, but the image only changes in the way they grow up. How they mature physically. Years later, they're teenagers and still playing the same video games, still reading the same comics... only now they only wear the costumes on Halloween [or on random Wednesdays if no one else is home, but shh]. You know what we should do? A montage! A word montage!

Now we see our hero growing up... way up [he finally rests at 6'5”, much to his dismay]. He's towering over a little sister that he forces into a Robin costume until she's had enough and starts to fight back. We see him wearing a secret Superman shirt under his tux at prom, and finally, before the 90's music fades out, we see him behind a Starbucks counter, looking miserable.

Did everybody grab some popcorn? Maybe a soda? Man, I could use a rootbeer right now...

When we last left our aproned cruisader, he was lonely and miserable, working at a job he hated. Sure, the free latte's were great, but that's as far as it went. But look! In the distance! Sitting in the park with that group of people... a pretty girl! For some reason, she's interested in our hero. A conversation is being struck up! THEY HAVE COMMON INTRESTS!

Are you ready for another word montage? Here it comes...

Our hero is smiling, happy. He feels loved, and supported. We see our beautiful female lead encouraging him, and pregnant. Pregnant three times, actually. Four babies! [one set was twins, smart alacks, I CAN count.]

When the music in our montage swells, you know... when it's that pinnacle moment, the perfect time, we see our young hero, now a husband and father, sitting at a desk. He's tapping away at a laptop, surrounded by action figures and photos of his beautiful family. This may seem like a boring pinnacle moment to you, being stuck behind a desk, but to our hero, Taylor, this is perfection. He's happy, he's healthy, he has an amazing family and he's doing what he loves. The reader should note, that as we watch our protagonist at his desk, on his laptop, he's typing up this column. He finally feels like people are taking him seriously as a writer, and that's what makes this the perfect moment for the music to swell and the image to slowly fade to black.

Stay tuned, dear reader. I have a feeling that, with your help, this column will be fun. I'd love it if everybody emailed me questions and topic suggestions. I want to make this something that you look forward to reading monthly, I want to make it past three months. And of course, if your question is the published question of the week, we have to celebrate that, no? If I select your question, and it appears printed in my column, I'll send you something cool. So please include your full address in the email.

FAN QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

Jack Endinger asks, “Is there going to be a volume three in the Hush graphic novel series?”

Absolutely, Jack! Hush has become my baby, and there is no way I could stop writing it. Luckily for me, there's been a great fan response for the series, so I get the chance to keep going. We're currently writing and penciling for volume three and we're all more than stoked about it. Jeph Loeb is back, helping me write, but we're also welcoming Frank Bernardis on board. In addition to the ever awesome Jim Lee and Scott Williams, Duff Gowen is a part of the animation process. We're hoping for a May release, fingers crossed!

Please feel free to send in any, and all questions to taylormadson@g4magazine.com. I try my best to answer as much as I can, and like I said, if your question is published in the magazine, you'll be sent something cool.

Until next month, kids... same Bat-time, same Bat-column!

I am so fucking cool [February 25, 2008]

I met up with a couple of people at this comic convention last week, and I just stumbled across this in one of my magazines. I found it on their website, and decided to post it. :)

Holy Interview, Batman!

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’ve dreamt about being Batman at some point in your life. A dream of yours has been to become the caped crusader, to be the one who foils The Joker’s plan, who saves the girl, and who has that giant house with the kick-ass basement. There’s no doubt in my mind that at some point in your life, you ran around your house in a Batman Hallowe’en costume, or your Batman underoo’s and a cape. Be it when you were four, or last week... no one here is judging.

Well, at this year’s X Comic Con in New York City, I had the chance to sit down with somebody who becomes Batman every single day. And the best part? He gets paid for it! Taylor Madson, is four things. He’s the head writer of the Batman franchise at DC Comics, he’s a husband, he’s a father of four and oh yeah, he’s only thirty years old.

On a personal note, I’m a big fan of Taylor’s. I firmly believe that Batman was taken in a new direction when he came on board, but it’s obvious from his writing that he’s a Batman fan who wouldn’t ever dream of messing with the original formula. Interviewing him was an honour and he is seriously one of the coolest guys I have ever met.

Troy Olsen: You come across as “a comic guy”. Have you always been into comics?

Taylor Madson: Absolutely, since I was a kid. I was... that kid. The one who stayed in and read comics instead of going out to climb trees and get into trouble. My best friend Zack and I mastered every video game system and completely educated ourselves on anything and everything DC comics.

TO: Were you the kids who hung out at the local comic shop and knew the guy by name?

TM: [laughs] You bet! We were there every chance we got. We were just SO fascinated by the entire comic world. Here were guys... regular guys who did extraordinary things. They saved lives, the got rid of the bad guys! How is that not the coolest thing you’ve ever heard?

TO: Do you feel like a role model of sorts? You said yourself that the comics you read growing up had a deep impact on you, and now you’re the one creating that escape and that fantasy for kids everywhere.

TM: I’m just a regular guy, you know? I have this super cool job and I spend my day inside of Batman’s head, but then I go home and I’m dad. My kids don’t care what I do for a living, I could work at McDonald’s and be the same guy to them. All they care about, is scoring cookies before dinner.

TO: What does your wife think of your job?

TM: She’s the single most supportive woman in the entire world. If I told her tomorrow that I wanted to quit my job and move to the country to raise cattle? She’d be on board. She probably wouldn’t LOVE the idea, but if it was truly important to me, she’d be in. She’s amazing and I really don’t know how I got so lucky.

TO: You told me before that your family teases you for being such a comic nerd, have you always encountered that?

TM: [laughs] What do you think, man? Of course. We were the subject of much teasing growing up. But you know what? I have an amazing life, and look where comics got me. My family does tease me, but they don’t mean it... we all have our things, right?

TO: For sure! Did you always want to become a comic writer?

TM: To be honest? It sort of fell in my lap. I went to NYU for like five years and I didn’t have a single degree. I took every course imaginable, but didn’t do anything with any of them. Then I met Bea, my wife, and as soon as she read some of what I had written, she encouraged me to take some writing courses. I was working at Starbucks and I was going through a really hard time in my life, so I figured that there was nowhere to go but up. I took the courses and then while on the DC site one morning, I saw they were holding interviews for new writers. On a whim, I sent in my resume and some samples of my writing and boom, I was hired. I started out slow, but earned a couple of promotions and a few graphic novels and now I have an amazing team under me. It’s still pretty surreal, just because it did happen so fast.

TO: You’ve talked openly about the drug use in your past before, so do you mind if we touch on that?

TM: Absolutely, I mean, that was obviously the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. But coming out of it, I realized how short life is, and how you have to just... do what makes you happy. I was directionless and I felt like I had no one, so I turned to drugs. It seemed like the best idea in the world at the time, and now I know that I’m better than that, you know? I have an awesome family whom I love, I’m doing what I love... I’m writing BATMAN for goodness sake. It doesn’t get any better than that.

TO: Well, congratulations on that. Does your experience affect your writing at all?

TM: I think in a way, yes. Writing for a series like The Dark Knight, you have to go to a darker place. I have that darker place that I can go to. I hope that something positive can come out of that very negative experience. If it can help me be a better writer, than great. I’ll accept that. You live and learn, right?

TO: You seem to be like DC’s golden boy. You’re at every local comic con and you were hand picked to write the statement on Heath Ledger’s untimely death. How did that feel?

TM: Well, before I could even think about what an honour it was to be trusted with something like that, I had to try and absorb the shock. Heath had been into the office a bunch of times to meet with people over the role and the movie and it was heartbreaking that such a nice guy passed away so suddenly. Writing that statement was hard. I’m a dad with young kids and it just sort of hit home, you know? I did appreciate the fact that I was trusted with something so big though, absolutely.

TO: Can you give us anything on where the series is going or are you sworn to secrecy?

TM: Well, I’m trying to do a balance of dark and light. I want to make sure that these comics are alright for kids to read. I don’t want to alienate anybody, so I try and please all ages. It is a challenge, I can’t deny that, but I’m stepping up and working harder everyday because of it. So I guess you can expect it to be a mix of both. Right now we’re working on making that seamless. What I WILL say is, Robin has been stepping it up lately. You need to watch our for him, he’s more badass than people think.

TO: Do you feel like you’ve improved as a writer?

TM: Absolutely. I look back on comics from even last year and I see a difference. I’m always studying and experimenting and I think it’s paid off. I hope it’s paid off.

TO: It’s paid off.

TM: [laughs] Thanks, man. I appreciate that.

TO: A big thing for me, as a fan, is that you’ve incorporated Harley Quinn into the Dark Knight series, was that a conscious effort?

TM: Harley Quinn has been a favourite character of mine since she was introduced. I still have the original first issue of hers. She’s fun, she’s whimsical, she’s crazy, she’s wonderful. She deserves to be in the spotlight and I love every single storyline that she’s been in. Another plus to having focus on Harley, is that when you see Harley, the Joker isn’t far behind. Which is also great, he’s another favourite villain of mine.

TO: Does your family influence your writing at all?

TM: Absolutely. I mean, back to Harley, my cousin is a huge fan so she’s always calling me going, “Is there going to be more Harley in the next issue?”. My daughter’s are just young, but they’ll ask me to write things with their names used for characters. It’s funny, because my oldest daughter always wants to be a hero, and my twin girls always want to be villains. My son is just a baby, but I’m sure as he grows up, he’ll be influenced. If Bruce Wayne ever gets a cat named Zan, now you’ll know where the influence came from.

TO: Nice, I’ll keep an eye out for that. Did your parents encourage your decision to become a comic writer?

TM: In the beginning, not so much. I mean, any parent is going to be nervous about their kid becoming a writer, I think. It’s not always the easiest thing to make money doing. They were worried that I’d end up retiring from Starbucks and living in a one bedroom walk up for the rest of my life. I think once they saw how happy I was though, they decided to back off a little and see what happened. I mean, obviously now they’re really proud of how far I’ve come. I think it’s a relief to them that I’m actually successful and happy, you know?

TO: Well, I know you have a panel to lead, so I’ll let you go get ready for that. I just want to say thank you for taking the time to talk to me. I look forward to seeing what direction you’re going to take Batman in next. You’re doing an awesome job.

TM: Thanks, man. I appreciate that.

After the interview, Taylor was approached by G4 to write a monthly Batman/Superman column in the magazine. Be sure to check out the April issue for his first appearance. He’ll also be answering questions and accepting fan e-mail at the address, taylormadson@g4magazine.com so be sure to get them in.

My wife likes it when I post [December 03, 2006]
[ mood | drained ]
[ music | "How To Save A Life" -The Fray ]

So I do it. She can withhold sex and nobody wants that. I had a weird dream last night. It was just... strange. We (Bea and I, the gays and the teenagers) were driving out to Woodstock in this huge van, and we didn't have Niamh or the twins with us. I think they were with Jacob's mom, which is weird, because Ginny would flip if we went without them. Anyway, so we were in this van...singing show tunes. All of us. Pippin, Rhys and I included. Man, I dunno what that was all about. OH...wait. I think I know. Jacob's making me read Wicked (...itsnotbad...) and I was reading that before going to bed. Whenever I read it, Bea runs by singing songs from the show. That has to be what caused the dream. Where did the van come from though?

Still... Danny, Rhys and I singing show tunes is a horrifying image. I don't want to experience that again.

I downloaded the Batman (TV) theme and a Batman wallpaper for my cellphone. I fucking love it. Niamh looks up every time my phone rings and my heart swells with pride and joy.

Ugh, I just got home from work and I am so effing tired. I was supposed to be off today, but I got called in. They keep trying to make me manager and I keep telling them that I'm a comic writer, with a great job, I just keep Starbucks for part-time hours and free coffee. Some yuppie lady went batshit crazy on me today because she thought I put whole instead of skim milk in her latte. I was all, "WTF? IT'S SKIM!" Except, I said it super polite and she accused me of being rude. I couldn't take it then, and I said, "If I was being rude, you'd know it." Then she started going on about how at my age I should have a real job. So I politely explain that I do, and I'm basically at Starbucks to help out. She didn't know what to say. Stupid bitch. I slid her drink across the counter and walked away. I don't have as much patience for that place as I used to.

Bea and the baby are out shopping with Jacob and the twins. Danny and Jacob, we invited Chris and Rhys over for dinner tomorrow night, do you want to come too? We're having quesadillas. Pretty excited about that. Maybe we could all get a movie or something for later? I dunno, up to you guys.

Alright. I'm going to go shower and get changed. I smell like coffee and that's just gross.

My eyes are buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurning. I want to go to bed so bad, but I have a page that's due tomorrow and I need to finish it. I decided to come on LJ to procrastinate for a bit before I shot my face off. I could have worked on it yesterday, but I was completely uninspired. Usually, I can solve that by watching Batman or something, but even that didn't work.

Superman Returns comes out on Tuesday. Bea says to me today, "You know, Christmas is coming. Maybe you shouldn't buy it so somebody can get it for you for Christmas?" I'm like, "Baby, it's SUPERMAN!" and then she laughed all, "I know, I know. I just thought I'd try." she said the look on my face was priceless. Hi, Superman. That 14-disc box set comes out soon though. So you know, that's available. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Speaking of Christmas..I seen something I'm going to get for Bea, I'm pretty excited about it. I think I have to hide it though, I think she'll snoop. Jacob or Chrissy, I'm looking at you guys for a hiding spot.

I'm excited for Christmas morning this year, because Niamh is starting to understand Christmas now, and the concept of presents and Santa. She's already excited whenever we mention "Ho ho" so it'll be cool to see her on Christmas morning. Next year will be really cool, because Asher and Lizzie will be older too.

So, I've typed "Christmas" 6 times already.. think I'm excited? Oh God, I'm going to go finish that page now so I can go to bed. Apparently, I need sleep.

Okay, so everybody around me is orgasming over The Office. WTF? It's an okay show, and I love Steve Carell.. but seriously, guys? *ducks*

So, while Bea watched The Office, I gave Niamh and the twins a bath. They were all MUCH more eager to have a bath, seeing as they each had two people to play with. Niamh was helping me bathe the twins.. she's trying to grow up too fast for me. Is there a pill we can give her that will slow that down? I'm willing to buy it black market.

What else is new? Oh, Geoff (my boss) and his wife Cindy brought their girls over yesterday. Originally, the plan was, to have a playdate BEFORE putting Niamh in with Lizzie and Asher, just in case she wasn't very nice.. but she plays with them all the time now. They get along really good. She had fun with Geoff's kids though, they were good girls. They stayed for dinner, so Bea and I were EXHAUSTED when they left. Of course, Niamh was all hyper and not at all ready to go to bed on time.. which is usually how she rolls.

Geoff and I had a good talk about work though, and Bea and Cindy got along well. Cindy was just absolutely facinated in anything Bea had to say, especially with anything about her childhood. lol

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As fans have been hoping, Warner has also officially announced the release of the 14-disc Superman: The Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD box set (SRP $99.92). Packaged in a special tin case, the set will include the 2-disc Superman Returns: Special Edition, the 4-disc Superman: The Movie - Special Edition, the 2-disc Superman II: Special Edition, the single-disc Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, the single-disc Superman III and Superman IV DVDs, the You Will Believe: The Cinematic Saga of Superman documentary, the previously-released Look Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman and a Bryan Singer's Journals Extended Edition disc featuring ALL of the director's video journals shot on the set of Superman Returns (along with 2 that have never been seen before). The case will also include a reproduction of the Superman #7 comic book, a booklet on the history of the character and a mail-in offer for all 5 Superman feature film movie posters.

I. NEED. THAT. TO. BREATHE.

Ooooooooooooooooooh man. 14 disc. It looks AMAZING!

Okay, now I'm all excited. I'm going to go see if Bea's still up. Bwahahaha

I'm updating and no one even told me to do it! Bea, are you proud, baby?

So what's new? Oh, my dad's a cheating asshole. :) I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole situation. Chris said she suspected it, but she lived there.. so she probably would. His whore being Misty though? Jesus Christ, that was out of left field. Fucking Misty. Ugh. I'm really upset that it happened on Niamh's birthday though.. BUUUUT it was good that my mom had such a big distraction.

Speaking of Peanut's birthday.. homegirl got spoiled rotten. The party turned out really well, considering how it started. It was really nice that Doc and Shannon made it in, because they never get to see Niamh. Man, everytime I see Shannon though, I'm just overwhelmed by that dude's height. I always get called tall and I'm short compared to him.

I really should be working on these pages for work, but my eyes were starting to cross. They're not due for a couple of weeks though, so it's okay. I'm also hungry. I ate cookies and now, I think I want a sandwhich. OH A SUB! I should run down the street and get a sub.

Yeah, I'm going to get a sub. Once I ask if my wife wants one. :)

Later.

My wife is making me do this.. [September 14, 2006]
[ mood | hungry ]
[ music | Bea reading to the baby in the bedroom ]

Okay.. so Bea has brought it to my attention that I never update my Livejournal. So, to make her happy.. I'm doing it. :)

My job with DC is going AMAZING. I've been writing like crazy and I absolutely love it. All my life, I've wanted to write for a living and now I'm doing it for DC Comics.. it's really too much. Sometimes, I have to actually stop in the middle of doing something and just let myself realize that it's actually happening.

2 years ago, my life was shit. I was directionless in school, working at Starbucks and on heroin. God, then I meet an adorable little human energy ball in the park (with her annoying gay twin....) and she completely changes my life for the better. She immediatly helps me make a change at school, points me in the right direction and actually puts up with my shit, even though I put her through absolute fucking hell when I was withdrawling. Now, we have a beautiful daughter, we're married.. I have an amazing job. Man, life is pretty fucking sweet right now.

We got our puppy last week. Bea let me name her (because I really had no say in us getting a dog, so she gave me that. lol) and I decided on Evey from V for Vendetta. We're spelling it Evie though, just to make it easier. Her and Niamh are really too much. They bonded instantly and now the baby has a new best friend. I've been pushed away countless times already so she can cuddle with the puppy instead. It's really too cute, and heartbreaking at the same time. lol

My mom told me that Christina has been shopping for the apartment like crazy already, and that her old room out in Westchester is just full of shit that she's bought. She gets that from my mom, my mom is the exact same way. Oh well, I'm sure it'll look nice when they move in. It's funny though, because when I first met Bea, she was living there with Danny, and then she moves out and moves in with me.. so then Jacob moved in and now Chris and Rhys are moving in.

OH, Bea! I'm putting this here because I know you're going to read it as soon as I say I've updated.. your dad called earlier. He and your mom want us to come out for dinner this week. He said he was calling the gays as well.. well, he said he was calling Pippin and Jacob. And, apparently our moms have been on the phone like everyday, and since the wedding.. my mom has driven out to Woodstock a bunch of times. This is a good thing, right?

Hey, who remembers when Niamh started calling Jacob "Shotsie" ? I do. :)

Okay, so Philip Seymour Hoffman might be playing The Penguin. That's a step in the right direction. Doesn't make up for the other HORRIBLE casting choices.. but again, step in the right direction.

Sooo, Bea is making me update this. Apparently, I don't do it enough.. according to her. ;)

We're going tux shopping this weekend................................... yeah. I can't wait to get married, I really can't. I just think.. don't all tuxes look the same? I'm sure Danny know's what I'm talking about.

I think my parents are going to get a divorce. I don't know, ever since Christina spent the weekend, I've had the feeling. I wouldn't be at all surprised to get that phone call. It sucks, but it would actually be for the best. As messed up as this sounds, I don't think my dad likes the way my mom has been changing. She's changed for the good, and all us kids are happy about it, but my dad is so typical Westchester. I'm so glad I didn't turn out that way. Corey kind of did though, even though he lives in Washington.

I don't know what else to write. Bea, this is why I never update.

Umm.. oh! I took Niamh to the doctors today. They forgot to give her a shot when Bea had her there last. She was so funny, because she was bouncing all happy and giggling, and he gives her the shot and for a second she's just like.. frozen. She's looking at me with this horrified expression on her face like, "How could you let them do that to me, Daddy?" and then she just starts wailing. Poor thing. Mommy's taking her for her next shot. :P

Okay, that's all I got. Are you happy, baby?

[ music | "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)" -Cobra Starship ]

First Heath Ledger as The Joker and now Ryan Phillippe as Two Face? Seriously? If I was an emo kid I'd be cutting myself right now. This sucks so hard though, I need to call Beckett because he's the only one who'll understand this misery. Siiiigh.

My sister sent me this song and I'm obsessed with it now. The baby LOVES it. Everytime I play it she bounces around and gets all excited. She's too funny. I fed her this morning and then put her in her playpen so I could write and she was sitting there quietly chewing on her hand and throwing toys at the playpen wall (that's how she rolls) and then this song comes on and she started freaking out. Once it was over she went back to how she was. I was laughing so hard. I keep randomly putting it on to see her react. Bea is going to love this.

Sooo. My mom said we could use her SUV for Florida if you guys are up for the roadtrip. It's my mom, so you know there's a dvd player and stuff built in. I think it would be a fun trip though. I should mapquest it and see how long it would take.. Hmm, I'm going to do that right now. Okay, it's about 17 and a half hours. It's less then I thought it was, actually. We can all drive, so I don't think it would be too bad, and we could stay over a night on the way. Actually, gays.. do you want to come over for dinner tonight? I think we're having vegetarian lasanga. There was some mention of it last night. Ooh, and are you guys still thinking of moving to the village? I found a great loft in the Voice yesterday that I meant to tell you about. If you come over I'll show you.

Oh, I think my child needs to be changed. I'm going to do that and call Beckett so we can cry together. Gays, call me this afternoon.

[ music | Batman Forever on DVD ]

So, Jacob talking about Florida in his last entry made me think about it. Who's up for a roadtrip? I could borrow my mom's SUV so it'd be comfortable, and I just thought it could be fun. Plus, Bea doesn't like flying. That means no airplane sex though, but I'm sure we could stop at a reststop and do it in the bathroom. HAHA I just got this visual of us taking turns, Jacob and Danny watching Niamh while Bea and I go in, and then us watching their baby so they can. Ew, that's so gross.

Work sucks so bad. I really wish I could quit, but it's so not an option right now. I don't really MIND Starbucks, I always just get like this when school's done for the semester. I think I'm going to submit some writing to places like the Voice and various papers. See where I get with it. Maybe Bea's been biased and I'm really shit. I mean really, the first time she read something I wrote, we HAD just had sex, and now we have a baby and we're getting married.. so it's not impossible. We'll see though. I'll either get shot down, or something will happen with it. Jacob, I know EXACTLY what you're talking about with photography, I'm the exact same way with writing.

Ooooooooooooh! I got into a fight with a woman at work. She was talking about how she's going through the adoption process right now, and I told her how Danny and Jacob were as well, and having a hard time of it. She proceeded to launch into a whole thing about how gays shouldn't adopt, and they're taking a baby away from a perfectly good straight couple, and how horrible and blah blah. I looked at her and I was all, "So what you're saying is, the important thing isn't this child getting a home, its who the parents are? These kids need homes and I can tell you right now that the baby who ends up with Jacob and Danny will be a very lucky baby." Ugh, I was so mad. She kept going, and I didn't let her.. I made her drink with whole milk when she ordered skim. It's so much more effective then spitting in it, I think. My manager was even defending me to her when she complained that I was rude. He's met Danny and Jacob and he said, "You were the one being rude, not him." She got into a huff and left, threatening to call head office. Yeah, I'm sure they'll care. I hope her bitch ass gets fat from her latte.

Man, I'm starving. I should make a sandwhich. Oh, grilled cheese. Okay, I'm gonna pause my movie and make some lunch. Peeps, lemme know about the roadtrip thing.

[ music | "Give Me Novacaine" -Green Day ]

So hi, never going to Westchester without my laptop again. That was absolute death.

Niamh was good though. She slept the entire ride almost and then I barely seen her all night. My mom and sister took over and even put her to bed for me. haha One point for Taylor.

Seriously though, because they took care of the baby, I was bored out of my skull. It was nice seeing the family though, and Christina only talked ONE ear off about Rhys. He called twice and she called him once in the 23 hours I was there though, and I'm sure they were chatting at some point too. Although, I can't really say anything.. I called Bea a couple times.

Soooo.. speaking of Bea.. she must have gone out with either one or both of the gays because she's not here. Her cell is off and I'm slightly worried because she wasn't in a good mood last night. I thought she would have been here when I got home. Hmm.. I'm gonna try Jacob's cell. Normally, you'd think I'd try her twin's cell, but it's way more likely that she's out somewhere with Jacob. lol

Okay so yeah, calling right now. I should also have a shower.. I feel preppy. I get like an.. icky film or something on me when I leave that place. Gross.

PS, I'm basically putting this for my own benefit. Comic con is from the 12th-16th at the convention center. $12.50 to get in and it runs from 8am-10pm each day.

[ music | "Superman 2" -DVD ]

Okay so I came home to a note that Bea and the baby are at the gay's. This place seems seriously quiet without them, I don't think I like it. Although, I'm sure that'll change once Niamh starts talking.

So yeah, just had a shower and now I'm sitting here watching Superman 2. I've been trying to write for a week and I'm so stuck. Writers block is the work of the devil, I'm sure of it. Although, the bulk of what I write is pretty angsty and I've been crazy happy for the past little while, that may be it.

My cousin sent me these two CD's from Canada by this band called Billy Talent and I LOVE them. Some of it's a little screamy, but for the most part they're really good. She said they're pretty big there and they seriously deserve to hit it big over here too. Really good stuff. She also sent me this other cd by a band called City and Color. It's pretty emo, but I like it. Apparently the guy..I guess it's not a band, it's just one guy.. his name is Dallas Green. So he's a City and a Color. HAHA Clever Canadians.

Jacob, Bea and I were talking about it, and we know that if you two got a kitten, it would end up over here after the first time it sheds on your clothes. Listen to Pippin, stick with the fish.

Okay kids.. that's all I have to talk about. I'm tired and I want my girls home.
